At Pentatonic, we don’t just design products: we create our own new materials. We’re obsessed with breathing valuable new life into old things that already exist in the world as waste and clutter, and our designers and engineers refuse to make any concessions when it comes to our aesthetic, ergonomic and environmental principles. The appearance and feel of the finest marbles, softest cottons and hardest woods can all be recreated and improved upon; and with exciting, modern design we can grant our materials the added flexibility inherent to synthetics.

We pledge to only use waste as our starting point because using new raw materials only creates new waste, and extracting them is always harmful to the environment. All the material we need is already in circulation – in the clothes you no longer wear, the DVDs you no longer watch, the cans gathering rainwater on the pavement. We’ve made it our mission to not only recycle and reincarnate the materials we use, but to ensure that each new life we give to those materials is better than the last. We’d love for you to join us in making that mission a successful one, for us, for you, and for the planet that we share.

In an environmental sense, we make all of our products out of one single material, ensuring that they can be recycled over and over again. As a rule, we also refuse to use toxins – glues, resins, paints or formaldehydes never find their way into our process. This means that what we make remains 100 percent re-recyclable, and entirely harmless to have in your home.

Here are some of our high performance materials, many of which are unique to Pentatonic.
